What is a Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coatings are non-organic liquid polymer based products that bond chemically to your vehicle's paint. This type of product acts as a sacrificial layer of protection for your vehicle that lasts for up to several years. Application of Ceramic Coatings is a by hand process. When these products are cured, they provide enhanced paint gloss as well as protection properties for your paint. While not completely permanent, these coatings will provide easier cleaning due to their inherent hydrophobic properties, including easier removal of contaminants such as liquids, mud, and light dirt. Ceramic Coatings also provide UV light protection which prevents your paint from oxidizing and eventually failing due to the sun's rays. Ceramic coatings also provide chemical resistance, which can prolong resistance to bird droppings, sap and insects. The hardness of a typical ceramic coating is higher than that of a typical modern clear coat, which means it will be more resistant to light scratches, keeping your car's finish looking new!
